Choosing the correct Bike Rack for You and/or Family!

Choosing the correct bike rack for you and/or family can be a daunting task.  I am writing this blog to help you in choosing a bike rack that is affordable and most importantly functional for what you want out of it.

Here are the step by step plan on how to decide:

Step 1:  Decide what type of bike rack you would like to own.  The choices are: hitch mounted, roof mounted, rear door mounted, spare tire mounted, or truck bed mounted.

Step 2: Gather the following information:

             Vehicle Make

             Vehicle Model

             Vehicle Year

Hitch Size - 1.25" or 2" (if applicable)

Step 3:  Visit the following websites to determine what bike racks will fit your vehicle.

            Thule Products - http://www.thule.com/en-us/us/buyers-guide

            Yakima Products - http://www.yakima.com/fit/Information

           Kuat Products - http://kuatracks.com/en/support/product-guides/

           Pro-Rack Products - http://www.prorackgear.com/fit/

Step 4:  Write down all the bike racks/systems that interest you.

Step 5:  Decide what bike rack is going to suite your lifestyle the best (i.e. roof racks, hitch racks, platform racks, etc.)

Step 6:  Come up with a budget on how much you would like to spend.

Step 7:  Look to see if your current vehicle has some of the options already to save you money.

Step 8:  Narrow your search down to your top 3

Step 9:  Research and read reviews on your top 3 bike racks

Step 10: Visit a local bike store to see the bike rack up close

Step 11:  Contact me with any questions: jlapl169@gmail.com

Step 12:  Contact me if what you are interested in, I may be able to give you the best price shipped to you.
